Floating Lotus Yoga Teacher Training (200 hour)

RYS
Are you looking to dive deeper into your own yoga practice, or maybe share the gift of yoga with others? Are you looking for a comprehensive, yet affordable yoga teacher training program with a clearly defined vision? Are you interesting in getting the most out of your time and money? If your answer is yes, then read on.

Floating Lotus Yoga Teacher Training (FLYTT) provides our students with the maximum number of contact hours with our instructors. This ensures our students maximize the amount of feedback, and therefore personal growth, from the hours they spend working towards their 200 hour yoga teacher training certificate.

Our program has a heavy focus on proper alignment, sequencing, adjustments, yoga anatomy, subtle body anatomy, history of yoga, yoga philosophy, and plenty of practice teaching to help our students develop their own inner teacher. The students that graduate our program become comfortable and proficient yogis that use what they’ve learned to strengthen and deepen their own practice, and if they chose, share it with others.

Because of our meticulous preparation, attention to detail, and transparent philosophy, FLYTT is the most comprehensive, proficient, and affordable yoga teacher training in the valley.

Class Size, Cost, and Refunds:

Because we believe that small classroom size is the best way to optimize learning, we limit our class size to 10 students. Because class size is limited, a non-refundable $400 deposit is required to secure a seat. This deposit may be paid up to six months in advance to the start of the program. Once the program has started, the $400 holding fee will be subtracted from the total cost of tuition.

There are three payment options for FLYTT. The first option is to pay tuition in full before the start date and thus get a reduced rate. When paid in full before the start date the total cost of tuition is $2,400 (this price includes the $400 deposit).

The second option is to break the cost into two payments, once at the beginning and once after week 7. The total cost of tuition for this plan would be $2,600 (the price includes the $400 deposit). The student would pay $1,100 on the start date and $1,100 on week 7.

The third option is to break the cost into three payments. The total cost of tuition would be $2,800 (the price includes the $400 deposit). The student would pay $800 on the start date, $800 on week 4, and the final $800 on week 12.

Refunds:

If the student has paid in full before the start of the course and would like to withdraw before the program begins, the student will be given $2,000. Because space is limited the $400 deposit is non-refundable.

If the student has chosen payment option two or three, has attended one or more weeks of the program session and needs to withdraw, the student will be given a prorated refund for the time they have paid for in advance. Because space is limited the $400 deposit is non-refundable.

Example 1: If the student has chosen payment option three and has paid the $400 deposit and $800 for the first four weeks, but only attended one week and would like to withdraw, they will be given a $600 refund. Because space is limited the $400 deposit is non-refundable.

Example 2: If the student has chosen payment option two and has paid the $400 deposit and $1,100 for the first half of the program, but only attends two weeks and would like to withdraw, they will be given $786, the prorated amount remaining in the program they had paid for. Because space is limited the $400 deposit is non-refundable.

Program Overview

Floating Lotus Yoga Teacher Training (FLYTT) is a fourteen week program that begins on the first Friday of the session and runs through the last Sunday. Friday night classes are focused around Yoga History and Philosophy, Subtle Body Anatomy, Pranayama, Meditation, Ethics, and the Business of Yoga. Saturday and Sunday sessions are broken down into two sessions a day; the first is a two hour block, while the second is a three hour block (12pm – 5pm combined). On most weekends, the first two-hour session will be spent in a classroom setting learning a particular concept, while the latter session will focus on the practical application of that concept in a teaching or workshop atmosphere.

Our goal at FLYTT is to provide our students with the maximum amount of time needed to use and hone their inner teaching voice. We foster an inclusive community with downtown Mesa, and in certain sessions our students work with local individuals who are new to yoga. We do this to help our students learn to teach people from all different backgrounds, shapes, and sizes; and not only other students in the program. We believe in real-life application of the principles we teach, and understand that the best way to learn is through a hands-on approach.

We dedicate the latter portion of FLYTT to teaching Specialty Classes, such as how to teach and sequence Yin and Restorative Yoga, Yoga for Seniors, and Yoga for Pregnancy, and we end the course with a final Practicum, where our students showcase their inner teacher by leading a 75 minute yoga class of their design to friends, family, and the public.

Attendance

Attendance throughout the program is mandatory. Inconsistent attendance in any training program will produce inconsistent instructors. Our goal is to produce the best quality yoga teachers the valley has to offer. This can only be achieved when the students attend regularly and actively participate in the program.

Missed Classes (planned): When a student knows they will miss a class, they are required to inform the lead instructor no less than 7 days prior to the class they will miss. The instructor will then provide the student with an alternative homework assignment designed to replace the missed hours in the classroom.

Missed Classes (unplanned): When a student misses a class due to an emergency or for personal reasons they are required to contact the lead instructor within three days of their missed class. Depending on the circumstance, the instructor will either give the student a makeup assignment or help them withdraw from the course (see Maximum Missed Hours). In some cases the student may be allowed to transfer their student enrolment to the next FLYTT session (usually no less than six months away).

Maximum Missed Hours: The most hours that a student can miss in any FLYTT session, planned or unplanned is 20 hours. When a student has missed 20 or more hours they will be withdrawn from the course and issued a partial refund, if applicable (see Cost and Refunds section for more details).
